En route learn to identify crops & orchards; enjoy the vast horizons; bring your booted up cameras for fine photos of the Sutter Buttes.

Dress comfortably for the country. Pack drinks, snacks or a sandwich, otherwise fast food choices available.
 
This Northern Central Valley Itinerary includes:         

8:00    DEPART San Francisco from Marriott Marquis, 780 Mission St, San Francisco

ARRIVE Woodland (Yolo Co.), scatter late snack/early lunch  (Starbucks, Jim Boys Taco, In & Out Burger, Subway, Panda Express)

VISIT California Agriculture Museum for
     -Overview of Horsepower to Machines by Docent
    - Introduction to the CA Flood Control Story by Tom ELLIS, State Reclamation Department Step On Guide  who will describe the complex water projects

DRIVE north up the scenic right bank  route along the Sacramento River
    - Visit drainage pump operation, see fish screens & acres of solar panels, learn about dredging, ridge cuts, levee building, bypass routing, reclamation districts

WELCOME to Colusa County
    -SEE its attractive county seat of Colusa,  historic courthouse (2nd longest in continuous use behind Mariposa.), Industrial park, Wintun Band Colusa Casino, western style burg of Maxwell , off site water storage proposed future dam at Sites, its sandstone quarry that built the SF Ferry Building & others

Head south parallel to the wonderful West Coast Range Mountains
    - LEARN where The Gov will retire to, his great grandfather's stagecoach stop en route to area hot springs, visit the local migrant labor camp, meet workers, contractors, farmers
     - VISIT Williams' treasure chest Sacramento Valley Museum,and more...

SCATTER DINNER Choices of Granzella's Deli, La Fortuna or Roberta's Burritos, Pina's Juices, Los Mariscos Restaurant, Louis Cairo's Bar & Italian Restaurant
