View a sneak preview of a video of three generations of Treasure Island history: The SF Municipal Airport and Golden Gate Exposition; The US Navy's 50 + years activities; and the rebirth by way of the Treasure Island Development Authority.

The conception and gestation of Treasure Island spanned 8 years from 1931 to 1939. The adolescent period lasted from the opening of the Golden Gate Exposition in 1939 to the bombing or Pearl Harbor in 1941. Maturity came during the Navy's time on the island until the mid 1990's.

Now, Senior status describes the Island as it is redeveloped for housing and recreational use after the 20 year rebuilding is complete.

If time permits, after the Treasure Island Story,  any and all attendees can participate in a discussion session on "Business Challenges in the Tour guiding World"

Len Holmes will narrate the discussion period, everyone is encouraged to participate.

Great credit goes to Marcia Logrande, a new member, for finding this convenient venue  only two blocks from bart.  For drivers, there is limited free parking in the building, otherwise metered parking is available on the street.
