Port of San Francisco Seawall Earthquake Safety Program Walking Tour

Most all of us accompany visitors along the Embarcadero at some point on many of our tours.  Bring yourself up to date with the latest information on the major project that we'll hear lots more about in the near future.

San Francisco’s Seawall was constructed more than a century ago and is the foundation of over three miles of the city’s waterfront stretching from Fisherman’s Wharf to Mission Creek. The Seawall has served us well, but it is now in need of significant improvements to withstand the next major earthquake and increasing flood risk from sea level rise and climate change.

The Port of San Francisco is leading theSeawall Earthquake Safety and Disaster Prevention Program, a citywide effort to create a stronger and more sustainable waterfront by addressing critical safety upgrades along the Embarcadero Seawall.

Join us for a free 45-minute walking tour! Learn about earthquake and sea level rise risks facing our waterfront and what the Port is doing to keep the waterfront safe for generations to come!

The tour will depart from the Port’s lobby at Pier 1 – just north of the Ferry Building along the Embarcadero, and a short walk from the Embarcadero Muni and BART station. Walking tours are ADA accessible, with access to accessible restrooms.

We need a minimum count of 10 for this tour to run.
