A self-guided art crawl held on the first Friday of each month throughout the rest of the year is showcases North Beach’s ever-growing collection of arts and entertainment.

The latest edition of North Beach First Fridays, an event organized by the North Beach Business Association and the San Francisco Arts Commission, runs Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. at multiple neighborhood art galleries, museums, bars and restaurants. Some of the establishments are extending their hours of operation for the monthly occasion.

Business owners participating in the series say that in addition to showcasing North Beach’s nightlife, First Fridays allows other people to experience the neighborhood’s literary and artistic scenes. The monthly art crawls, they added, also present opportunities to highlight the neighborhood’s beauty and history to people from other parts of The City.
